Karl Hackbrett (born April 6, 1674 in Bern ; † October 29, 1737 there ) was a Bernese officer and magistrate .

In 1709, in the service of Duke Viktor Amadeus II of Savoy , dulcimer became colonel in a Swiss regiment. In the Second Villmerger War he commanded an infantry brigade and was the commandant of Baden . Back in Savoy , he took part in the Sicilian campaigns as a brigadier from 1717 to 1718 and rose to major general in 1719 . In 1720 he bought the Kehrsatz estate , and in 1723 the Perroy estate . After his promotion to lieutenant general in 1731, he returned to Bern and in the same year became governor of Lausanne .
