Carl Hugo Tzschucke

Carl Hugo Tzschucke (born January 28, 1809 in Meißen ; † March 20, 1879 there ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly and both chambers of the Saxon State Parliament .

The son of the court Director Johann Carl Gottlieb Tzschucke attended from 1823 to 1827, the Prince's School St. Afra and then studied until 1832 at the University of Leipzig the law . A first job as an accessist at the district office followed. From 1833 to 1846 he was a city judge in his hometown of Meissen. From 1837 he was a city councilor there until he was elected mayor in 1840 . From 1842 to 1848 he represented the 5th urban constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament, and in 1845/46 he held the office of second secretary of the chamber. As an elected member of the 20th Saxon constituency (Meißen), he was a member of the Frankfurt Paulskirche parliament (parliamentary groups Deutscher Hof and Donnersberg ) from May 20 to November 9, 1848 . After his resignation, Gustav Moritz Hallbauer became his successor. In December 1848 he was elected to the First Saxon Chamber of the Landtag in the 13th, 14th and 14th constituencies . He held the office of 1st Vice-President of the Chamber.

In early May 1849, he participated in the May uprising in Dresden , he is why after its crackdown in custody was set. This was followed by criminal proceedings for high treason , his impeachment as mayor of Meißen and, in 1850, sentencing to a prison term of five and a half years. He spent his imprisonment in the Hubertusburg State Prison , but was pardoned in 1851 . He then practiced as a lawyer in Meißen from 1852 to 1879 .

At the Markt 9 house in Meißen there is a plaque that reminds of Tzschucke. A street and a nursing home in Meißen bear his name.
