Carl Matthias Aloys Pietz (born January 16, 1849 in Siegen , † October 6, 1881 in Steele (Essen) ) was a German politician . He was mayor of the city of Steele, which was incorporated into the city of Essen in 1929 .

Life

Carl Matthias Aloys Pietz was born the son of a court secretary. He attended the Petrinum Brilon grammar school in Brilon , where he graduated from high school.

In 1867 he hit the road to an administrative career. In the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/1871 he took part as a lieutenant in the reserve . After that he was district secretary in Melsungen and Fritzlar and most recently in Ziegenhain near Schwalmstadt .

On October 14, 1880, Pietz was elected mayor of the city of Seele and was introduced to the office by the full-time district administrator of the Essen district , Joseph Anton Friedrich August von Hövel .

Carl Matthias Aloys Pietz died of a lung disease after a year in office.
