Carl Michalski
Carl Michalski (born January 18, 1911 in Bochum ; † December 11, 1998 in Bad Wiessee ) was a German composer and conductor .
Michalski was a student of Leopold Reichwein . He worked as Kapellmeister at the Stadttheater Bochum (1932–1934), at the Reichssender München (1934–1938) and from 1934 until the war-related closure of all German-language theaters in the summer of 1944 at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich . Michalski composed the operetta Gitta, which premiered in 1943 at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, together with Bernhard Stimmler . A trip into the blue .
From 1952 he was engaged at the Gärtnerplatztheater as "Musical Headmaster". He also worked in the administration of the house as a clerk for the artistic director.
He played as a conductor a. a. several recordings with the orchestra of the Wiener Volksoper , the Rundfunktanzorchester München, the Symphonie-Orchester Kurt Graunke and the Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks . For EMI he made numerous recordings with operetta cross-sections, with soloists such as Sári Barabás , Melitta Muszely , Christine Görner , Heinz Hoppe and Fritz Wunderlich .
