Carl Oswald Bulla ( Russian Карл Карлович Булла ; born February 26, 1855 in Leobschütz , Leobschütz district , province of Silesia ; † November 28, 1929 in Dorf Iide on the island of Ösel ) was a German photographer .

Life

Carl Oswald Bulla is considered to be the founder of Russian photo reportage. Between 1890 and 1900 he opened a photo agency in St. Petersburg . After the First World War he settled in Estonia . His son Viktor Karlowitsch Bulla documented the political events in Russia after the October Revolution between 1917 and 1920 as a photographer .
