Carl Philipp Ludwig Oeltzen

Carl Philipp Ludwig Oeltzen (also: Karl Philipp Ludwig Oeltzen ; * March 24, 1792 ; † December 7, 1871 ) was a German lawyer , notary , judge , city syndic and Freemason .

Life

Carl Philipp Ludwig Oeltzen was born in an unknown location at the end of the 18th century. In 1815 he became an auditor and in 1818 city secretary. In the same year he was accepted into the Masonic lodge Zum Anker in the town of Barth in what was then Pomerania at the age of 26 . In 1822 Oeltzen was appointed city judge. From 1831 to 1836 he also exercised the function of an assigned master of the chair in his box .

After Oeltzen moved to the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover , the lawyer and notary was there from 1844 to 1865 City Syndic of Hanover. He also exercised the function of a large overseer of the grand lodge of Hanover .

After the death of the city director Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Evers, who died on December 17, 1853, “C. Ph. Ludw. Oeltzen (formerly city judge) took over the city and led the election of the city director in 1854 ”.

Honors

Oeltzenstraße in the Hanover district of Calenberger Neustadt was named after the city syndic and Freemason .
