Carl Reissigl

Carl Reissigl (born January 14, 1925 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). From 1989 to 1994 he was President of the Tyrolean Parliament .

Life

Carl Reissigl began after the Matura one Studied law at the University of Innsbruck , he - interrupted by the front-line service as a lieutenant and pilot - in 1948 with the promotion of Doctor of Laws graduated.

During his studies he joined the family business, where he was responsible for the areas of grain, food and feed wholesaling and later became a managing partner. In 1968 he founded his own company with which he sold medical products to Austrian hospitals.

In 1965 he began as a chamber functionary in the trade section, where he became chairman in 1970. In 1984 he was elected President of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce , which he held until 1989.

From 1977 to 1979 he was a member of the Innsbruck municipal council. After the regional election in Tyrol in 1979 he was at the beginning of the IX. Legislative term as Member of the Tyrolean Parliament sworn in , where he belonged to the Economic Committee, the Social Committee and the Art and Culture Committee 1979-1989. On April 4, 1989, he was elected President of the Tyrolean State Parliament to succeed Josef Thoman . After the state election in 1994 , he resigned at the end of the XI. Legislative period from the state parliament. Helmut Mader succeeded him as President of the Landtag .
