Carl Schuster (theologian)

Carl Friedrich Theodor Schuster (born April 25, 1833 , † December 3, 1907 in Hanover ) was a German Lutheran theologian, consistorial councilor and general superintendent of the dioceses of Calenberg and Hanover .

Life

Schuster was a son of the general superintendent of Lüneburg-Celle Karl Georg Schuster . After completing his studies in theology, he first became assistant pastor in Bassum , in 1865 pastor in Düderode and in the same year conventual director of studies in Loccum . In 1880 he was called to Göttingen as the first pastor at the St. Jacobi Church and superintendent . In 1882 he became a clerical member of the consistory in Hanover, from 1884 to 1903 at the same time General Superintendent of Calenberg, from 1903 to 1905 General Superintendent of Hanover. From 1891 Schuster was also an extraordinary clerical member of the state consistory.
