coat of arms

On the shield in silver there are three green fir trees on three green mountains, on the mountains a golden plow. The head of the shield is red on the right with black mallets and iron (mining symbol) and on the left shows a golden water wheel on a blue background.

Trees and mountains symbolize the wooded hill country around Düderode, the plow symbolizes agriculture. The mallets go back to the mine in the 14th century and the open and underground mining of brown coal here in the 20th century. The water wheel is reminiscent of the mills that used to operate here.
