Culture and sights
- The former castle of the von Oldershausen family is located in Oldershausen . It was built as a brick building in the 19th century according to plans by Conrad Wilhelm Hase . The von Oldershausen residents lived there until the end of the Second World War . The British occupying forces then confiscated the castle to accommodate their troops. This was followed by other uses as accommodation for displaced persons as well as a lung sanatorium and rehabilitation facility . In 1974 the von Oldershausen family sold the castle. The listed property has been vacant since 1986 and is falling into disrepair, just like the surrounding area.
- There was a chapel in the village as early as the Middle Ages , which was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . In 1706 a new chapel was built in the castle park at the manor. It had a tower and the upper part was constructed from timber. It was later destroyed. Today's chapel was built in the same place and equipped with the organ of the Kalefelder Church, which was demolished in 1870. It has no tower and belongs to the Willershausen-Oldershausen-Westerhof parish.
Economy and Infrastructure
The Oldershausen stop was on the Osterode – Kreiensen railway line . This is shut down.
