Dögerode is a district of the unitary community Kalefeld in the Northeim district in Lower Saxony . The place is conveniently located a few kilometers from the federal highway 7 .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1418.

Dögerode was incorporated into the municipality of Kalefeld on March 1, 1974. In August 1981 a swastika about 2 meters in size, carved into the rock, was removed from the neighboring forest through the use of the technical relief organization . Dögerode became known in the 20th century through a branch of the Rheinische Kunststoffwerke and its production site in Kalefeld / Echte , located on the site of a former ore mine. What is impressive about it is the former loading bunker, which can be seen from afar and is over 30 meters high.
