Carl von Salis

Carl Albert von Salis-Soglio , ( CvS ), (born December 6, 1886 in Turin , † November 23, 1941 in Grevasalvas , Sils ; citizen of Soglio and Bever ) was a Swiss painter and draftsman .

Carl von Salis was the third son of Robert von Salis-Soglio (1857-?) And Elise Annetta Gruber (1860-?). He lived in Genoa until 1900 and in Bever from 1921. He traveled to Germany (to Angelo Jank in Munich), Italy, Spain, Dalmatia and Africa. After he had the Plaun da Sel mountain hut built above Maloja in 1912 , Grevasalvas, Alp Blaunca, Sils-Baselgia and Maloja were the focus of his depictions. He was married to Ellen von Jenner . The two were childless.

Pietro Albert the ninth child of Peter v. Salis (Davos 1823-Chur 1893) and Maria Prevosti (1841–1882). (Peter was a son of Baptista v. Salis (1779–1842) and Elsbeth Buol von Klosters († 1838), (Gotha, 1910).
