Carl zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen

Carl Adalbert Constance Heinrich Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen (* 19th November 1820 in Garnberg ; † 1. May 1890 in Klein-Drowinowitz, Circle Lublinitz) was a German nobleman , Prussian civil servant and politician.

Life

origin

Carl came from the noble house of Hohenlohe- Ingelfingen. His parents were the Prussian Prime Minister Prince Adolf zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen (1797–1873) and Luise zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1799–1881). Friedrich Wilhelm zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen (1826–1895) and Kraft zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen (1827–1892) were his brothers, Alfred zu Erbach-Fürstenau (1813–1874) was his brother-in-law.

Career

Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen studied in Breslau law . After that he was district administrator in Lublinitz from 1854 to 1873 . In the course of the German-Danish War he became civil commissioner in Jutland in 1864 and in Schleswig in 1865 . From 1866 he worked in the high presidium in Breslau. During the Franco-German War of 1870/71 Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen was civil commissioner at the headquarters of the German armed forces. Then in the same position until 1873 in the Generalgouvernement in Reims .

Then Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen resigned from civil service. Since then he has managed the family property. This included the rule of the Black Forest near Lublinitz. In addition, he owned large shares and was a member of several supervisory boards such as the Prussian life and guarantee insurance.

In the years 1866/67 Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen was a co-founder and chairman of the Free Conservative Party . He was a member of the Silesian provincial parliament . Between 1866 and 1879 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and from 1874 to 1876 of the Reichstag .
