Carlo Liberati (born November 6, 1937 in Matelica ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus prelate of Pompei .

Life

He was ordained a priest on July 29, 1962 by the Bishop of Fabriano e Matelica , Macario Tinti .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of the Territorial Prelature of Pompei on November 5, 2003 . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on January 10, 2004; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino , Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments , and Giancarlo Vecerrica , Bishop of Fabriano-Matelica . The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on January 24th of the same year.

Pope Benedict XVI awarded him on July 7, 2007 the title of Archbishop ad personam . On November 10, 2012, he accepted Liberati's application for retirement.
