Domenico Sorrentino (born May 16, 1948 in Boscoreale ) is Archbishop ad personam and Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino .

Life

Domenico Sorrentino was ordained priest for the diocese of Nola on June 24, 1972 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Prelate of Pompei on February 17, 2001 with the personal title of Archbishop. He chose Abba Pater as his motto . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Cardinal State Secretary Angelo Sodano , and Giovanni Battista Re , substitute for the State Secretariat .

On August 2, 2003, he was appointed secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 19, 2005 Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino while retaining the title of Archbishop ad personam .

On October 28, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments .
