Giancarlo Vecerrica (born July 26, 1940 in Tolentino , Marche region , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Fabriano-Matelica .

Life

Vecerrica was ordained a priest for the diocese of Macerata-Tolentino on May 22, 1965 .

On December 30th, 2002 he was appointed Bishop of Fabriano-Matelica by Pope John Paul II . The bishop of Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia , Luigi Conti , donated him episcopal consecration on February 22 of the following year. Co-consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Italy, Paolo Romeo , and the Prelate of Loreto , Angelo Comastri .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 18, 2016.
