Luigi Conti (born May 30, 1941 in Urbania , Marche region , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Fermo .

Life

Luigi Conti was ordained a priest on June 26, 1965 .

In 1996 he was appointed Bishop of Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia by Pope John Paul II . He was ordained bishop by Camillo Cardinal Ruini on September 21, 1996. Co-consecrators were the later Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Giovanni Battista Re , and the Archbishop of Urbino , Ugo Donato Bianchi . On April 13, 2006 he was welcomed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Fermo .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 14, 2017.

Luigi Conti is Grand Officer of the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and Prior of the Order Province of Marche .
