Alexi Murdoch (born December 27, 1973 in London ) is a Scottish singer-songwriter .

Life

Murdoch's father is Greek, his mother has Scottish ancestry. He spent his youth in Greece before returning to Scotland with his family.

Act

His music is a mixture of alternative rock , acoustic and indie folk. He moved to the United States , in order to attend the Duke University philosophy to study.

His self- released EP Four Songs in 2002 became the best-selling record on the online music service “CD Baby”. On June 6, 2006, his first album Time Without Consequence was released .

One of his most famous songs is Orange Sky . This has been used in many films and series including OC, California , Dr. House , Prison Break , Ugly Betty , Im Feuer , Garden State , and in a trailer for Paradise Now . Also the songs Breathe ( Stargate Universe , Continuum ), All My Days ( OC, California , Scrubs , Without a Trace , Real Steel and also in Stargate Universe ), Home ( Prison Break ), whose lyrics are on the famous children's song Row , Row, Row Your Boat , and Wait ( Defying Gravity ) were featured in series.

Murdoch's song Through the Dark plays during the credits of Gone Baby Gone and an episode of Teen Wolf . In addition to previously unreleased titles, he also contributed songs from his album Time Without Consequence to the soundtrack of Sam Mendes' film Away We Go .

Murdoch recorded the third album Towards the Sun in a single night in Vancouver in 2009 and then sold it in a limited edition on his website and at concerts. It wasn't until 2011 that the album was officially released.
