Carlo Peroni

Carlo Peroni alias Perogatt (born November 24, 1929 in Senigallia , Ancona Province , Italy , † December 13, 2011 in Guanzate , Italy) was an Italian comic artist and author.

life and work

Peroni began his artistic career in 1946 as a painter and restorer of large paintings in sacred buildings. From 1948 he worked as an illustrator for the Catholic weekly newspaper Il Giornalino . For another Catholic weekly he created the series Lillo, Lallo e Lello and signed it with the pseudonym Perogatt . Peroni has also been active in the film sector since the 1950s, working for both the American market, for which he created short films, and for RAI . In the 1960s, he was involved in several comic series and Calimero . In the 1970s, Peroni briefly revived Sergio Tofano's Signor Bonaventura and worked on various series, for example together with Alfredo Castelli on Zio Boris . Also in the 1980s and 1990s Peroni was involved in various comic and film projects.

In German, Peroni published several comics about the hare Sonny (Italian Gianconiglio ). In addition, drawings by him appeared in the Bild newspaper .
