The Carlo Schmid School Pforzheim is a state-approved and state-recognized vocational school independently sponsored by the International Federation in Pforzheim . It emerged from the IB-Bildungszentrum in 2009. In contrast to its predecessor, the Carlo Schmid School has since not only offered school types for acquiring the secondary school leaving certificate, but also higher-quality schools for acquiring the technical college entrance qualification and the technical college entrance qualification . The headmistress is Ursula Heckner-Bisping.

The Carlo Schmid school is located since 2011 in under monument protection standing Kollmar & Jourdan-house , one in the Art Nouveau built jewelry factory. The building was constructed between 1901 and 1910 and was converted into an office building in 1977 after the jewelry company went bankrupt. The Pforzheim Gallery and the Technical Museum of the City of Pforzheim are also located in the same building .
