Carlos Manuel García Vila

Carlos Manuel García Vila ( 1893 - January 14, 1919 ) was a Dominican violinist and music teacher.

García Vila has been a member of a children's choir at the Iglesia Major in Concepción de la Vega since 1904 , which was directed by his father José Ovidio García . He also took violin lessons. From 1909 to 1910 he was President of the Botón Rojo Society . In 1910 he became secretary of the Club Festivo , violinist of the Centro Lírico and the Quinteto Eslava, and music professor at the Escuela Superior de Señoritas . His most famous student was Luís Armando Rivera . Arístides Incháustegui considered him one of the most important Dominican violinists next to Gabriel del Orbe . Like his brother Josesito García Vila , he died of the Spanish flu in 1919 .
