history

Carlshan was first mentioned in a document in 1340. Originally, a Carl who surrounded his property with hedges lived here.

Between 1849 and 1854 the Carlshaner farmers had repaid their loan and hereditary interest obligations. The property was now her property. In 1857 the place had 22 inhabitants. He belonged to the school and parish district Gauerstadt . There were five houses, six barns and a sheep house. The formation of an independent community did not come about in the middle of the 19th century because the residents did not agree due to their poverty. Therefore, Carlshan was connected to the neighboring Niederndorf in 1857 to form a community. In 1870 it was incorporated into Gauerstadt. A ducal chamber estate existed until 1919. The school location was Gauerstadt until 1971. On May 1, 1978, Carlshan and Gauerstadt were finally incorporated into Rodach near Coburg and Rodach district.
