Niederndorf

Niederndorf is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Bad Rodach in the Coburg district .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Rodach between Gauerstadt and Bad Colberg , about 13 kilometers northwest of Coburg and five kilometers southeast of Bad Rodach. The district boundary corresponds to the state border with Thuringia in the south . The neighboring Thuringian town was originally Billmuthausen . A municipal road connects Niederndorf with Gauerstadt and Bad Colberg.

history

The first documentary mention of Niederndorf was in 1482. The name means the lower village with regard to Gauerstadt.

At the beginning of the Thirty Years War , Niederdorf had 28 inhabitants, in 1636 four people still lived in the hamlet . In 1658 the Niederndorfer corridor was deserted and desolate.

In 1854 the place had 54 inhabitants. In 1868 the community owned two properties, the poor house and the bakery. In total there were ten houses, eight barns, seven pigsties and a sheep house, including the Rodachmühle, which has been occupied since 1492. In 1871 a two-arched sandstone arch bridge was built over the Rodach south of Niederndorf.

The former domain property with an area of ​​76.6 hectares was dissolved in 1936 and distributed to 37 residents in the area. A new settler position with an area of ​​15.5 hectares was created in Niederndorf.

In 1857, Niederndorf was connected to the neighboring Carlshan to form a community. In 1870 it was incorporated into Gauerstadt . On May 1, 1978 Gauerstadt was finally incorporated into Rodach near Coburg and Niederndorf Rodacher district.
