Carmen Schmalfeldt

Carmen Christin Schmalfeldt (born Carmen Christin Burger on April 12, 1976 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German radio presenter.

Career

She started her radio career at the local broadcaster Radio Primavera, where she began her traineeship at the age of 20 after a stay abroad . Afterwards she moderated the program Musikmagazin there from 1998 to spring 2000. In June 2000 she joined the youth broadcaster bigFM eight weeks after it started broadcasting . There she initially took over the morning. In the summer of 2000 she started her first personality show "Chilli con Carmen". In December 2000 she made her debut on the bigFM morning show alongside Frank “Franky” Beeken - initially as a sidekick. In the summer of 2001, she became the show's anchor. From then on, until the summer of 2006, she hosted the morning program from Stuttgart with changing partners (Thilo Liebsch & Stefan Barth, Hans Bloomberg “Morgenhans”). After her extraordinary dismissal, her employer at the time sued the labor court in Stuttgart to continue her employment . In the late summer of 2006, Carmen Schmalfeldt began to present the evening program "Antenne Bayern Club" at Antenne Bayern under her then name Carmen Burger . She also acted as a sidekick in the program “The extra long Saturday - with Stefan Meixner ” from 8 am to 6 pm. From the beginning of 2007 to August 2007 she could be heard alongside Wolfgang Leikermoser in “Guten Morgen Bayern” until the birth of her son .

From 2009 Carmen Schmalfeldt was a freelance writer on WDR ( 1Live ), where she presented the “Das Pop” section for almost two years.

In spring 2011 she took the chance to work as a moderator again. She started at various local radio stations on Radio NRW . Since April 2013 she has been moderating the morning show on Radio Leverkusen, alternating with Thomas Wagner . In addition, she trained as a systemic business coach from 2013 to 2015 and is a certified member of the German Association for Coaching and Training eV As a business coach , she accompanies executives and various companies in change processes or cultural development. Carmen Schmalfeldt is also a board member at " Ask a Woman ", where experts accompany companies into the world of innovation and digitization - always with a feminine perspective and from a woman's perspective.

In August 2018, Carmen Schmalfeldt was nominated as the best presenter by the jury of the Grimme Institute for the German Radio Prize .

In summer 2019, the jury of the Grimme Institute proposed it again for the German Radio Prize. The nominations were made in the two categories "Best Morning Show" and "Best Presenter".

In addition, she published various glosses and short stories in various print media, such as " der Rheinpfalz " or "Nido", and was responsible for an issue of the games magazine "Luna PLAY".

Private

Carmen Schmalfeldt has been married since December 2006 and is the mother of one son. She lives with her family in Bad Godesberg near Bonn .
