Carnaval en el trópico (Fiesta de Vera Cruz) (German: Carnival in the tropics: Party in Veracruz ) is a Mexican film from the year 1941. Director for this film comedy led Carlos Villatoro , who is also the writer had written. The film was first released in 1946due to copyright disputes.

Plácido (Agustín Isunza) attends the carnival in Xalapa and Veracrut with his wife Mercedes (Eufrosina García) and the moneylender Homobono (Manuel Medel) . There they experience some adventures in the course of which they spend all their money. That's why they have to walk home at the end of the movie.

Was produced Carnaval en el trópico of de VETP Veracruz . The film contained footage of Cantinflas bullfighting and performing on stage at the Xalapa Carnival. Villatoro also used material from the short film Cantinflas boxeador . These sequences were taken over without prior permission from Cantinflas, who was therefore able to postpone the release of the film until 1946. The film was re-released under the title Fiesta en el trópico . For a further new release as Carnaval de Veracruz was designed by Francisco Chiu , a new soundtrack written.
