Carol Cady

Carol Therese Cady (born June 6, 1962 in Los Alamos , New Mexico ) is a former American athlete . She competed in international championships in the shot put and discus throw .

Career

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , Cady finished seventh with 17.23 meters. 1985 at the World Indoor Games in Paris - Bercy was eighth with 15.44 meters. In 1988 she competed in the discus throw at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and finished eleventh with 63.42 meters. In 1985 and 1986 Cady was the US discus champion.

The 1.70 m tall Cady was also active in weightlifting, she was 1985, 1986 and 1989 US light heavyweight champion and 1988 heavyweight champion. The weight limit between the two classes was 82.5 kg in the 1980s.

During Cady's career, the women's hammer throw has not been used in championships. Cady was one of the pioneers in this discipline and set several unofficial world records:
