The apple variety Carola (alternatively: Kalco ) is a modern table fruit of the cultivated apple ( Malus domestica ), which is grown in Western and Central Europe .
description
The tree is of medium-strong, later weaker growth and prefers open, nutrient-rich soils. It bears large, lemon-yellow fruits flamed red on the sunny side, with white-yellow, medium-firm flesh, which are very juicy, tangy, sweet and noble aromatic. The early winter variety is prone to specks , glassiness , rot, scab , powdery mildew (medium) and is sensitive to pressure. The yield starts very early, sometimes as early as the second year, and is very high; after very high yields, the variety tends to alternate .
use
In addition to being used as a table apple, it can also be used industrially as puree and pieces. The variety is picked, in September and can then be used directly ( ripe to eat ), a storage is possible by December.

This apple variety was bred in Müncheberg from seeds of the Cox's Orangenrenette .
