Carola Nossek

Carola Nossek (born February 10, 1949 in Schwerin ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ) and singing professor .

Life

Carola Nossek received her first musical training at the conservatory in her native Schwerin. After high school she began her vocal studies at the Academy of Music in Dresden at Professor Elsbeth Plehn . She gained her first opera experiences at the studio of the Dresden State Opera, where she made her debut in the opera Der Wildschütz as Nanette . In 1974 she made her debut at the State Opera Unter den Linden as Echo in the opera Ariadne auf Naxos .

From 1975 to 1995 the chamber singer was a member of the ensemble of the Berlin State Opera. Here she sang the roles of Susanna ( Le nozze di Figaro ), Despina ( Così fan tutte ), Ännchen ( Der Freischütz ), Woglinde ( Das Rheingold ), Nuri ( Tiefland ), Micaëla ( Carmen ), Marzelline ( Fidelio ) and Pamina ( The Magic Flute ). She also took part in the performances of Parsifal , Das Rheingold, Jenůfa , Elektra , Orpheus in der Unterwelt and the Rosenkavalier .

As a prize winner of numerous competitions, including the international Bach competition , she gave concerts and opera guest performances at home and abroad. In addition to her opera appearances, she devotes herself intensively to song singing. She has made numerous recordings for radio, record and television. For more than a decade, Carola Nossek has been teaching singing at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin .
