Britt Carola Therese Söberg (born July 29, 1982 in Karlstad ) is a Swedish former soccer goalkeeper who was under contract with the Swedish first division club KIF Örebro from 2015 to 2017 .

Career

In her youth, Söberg first played for her hometown clubs Sommarro IF and QBIK Karlstad and moved to Mallbackens IF in 2001 . In 2007 he switched to the Swedish first division and reigning champions Umeå IK . For the 2010 season she moved to Tyresö FF , with whom she reached the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2014 , but lost it to the defending champions VfL Wolfsburg . After the club went bankrupt, she moved to Avaldsnes IL in Norway . After just one season without a game, she returned to Sweden and played for KIF Örebro for three years . In the 2015/16 UEFA Women's Champions League she reached the round of 16 with KIF, where they were eliminated after a 1-1 home game and a goalless draw away due to the away goals rule against Paris Saint-Germain . After the 2017 season she ended her career as a player to work for the club as a U-19 coach and player agent.

National team

Söberg played once for the Swedish U-19 team and seven times for the U-23 team. On February 17, 2007, she made her debut in a friendly against Scotland in the Swedish national team . But she never got beyond the status of a substitute goalkeeper and was not considered in the following years for the World Championships, Olympic Games or European Championships. In May 2015 she was nominated for the 2015 World Cup. But she was not used and was eliminated with her team in the round of 16 against Germany . After that she was not nominated again.
