Carolin Mylord (born January 13, 1961 in Essen ) is a German actress and director .

Life

Carolin Mylord's stage career began at the age of 17 at the Theater im Pott in Oberhausen. She initially trained as a dancer at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and at the Academie de Danse in Paris. She then worked as a dancer and choreographer on various stages in Munich, Frankfurt and Italy. At the age of 24, she stopped dancing and began speaking training with Manfred Andrae and Gerd Kaminski at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg . This was followed by three years of permanent engagement at the DSH. At the same time, Mylord worked as a director / writer in the Kampnagelfabrik in Hamburg with a group of actors and musicians. From 1993 to 2000 Mylord played as a guest at the Volksbühne at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin, as well as at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus, the Maxim Gorki Theater , the Schauspiel Hannover and the Komische Oper Berlin . Mylord staged in 1988 and 1989 in the Kampnagelfabrik Hamburg, 1997 in the Prater of the Volksbühne Berlin and in 2004 at the Meiningen Theater . In 2002/2003 and 2008/2009, Carolin Mylord stayed in Havana for two years to study. In 2010/2011 Carolin Mylord worked again as a director and actress at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, from 2010 to 2012 she studied at the Babelsberg Film House and at the Institute for Acting, Film and Television Professions (ISFF), graduating as a fiction producer and assistant director / Production manager. She lives in Berlin with her two children.
