Carolin Schnarre

Carolin Schnarre (born July 22, 1992 in Osnabrück ) is a German disabled athlete and Paralympic participant.

Life

Carolin Schnarre is considered severely disabled due to a severe visual impairment . As she was very interested in horses , she chose to train as a horse manager , which she successfully completed. In order to be able to practice equestrian sports , she became a member of the sports club Sportfreunde Lotte . She began to specialize in dressage within the equestrian sport , where she soon practiced para-dressage in the starting class IV in the team, the freestyle and the championship task.

Her performance was so good that she could be used by the national equestrian team in international competitions. In 2014 she took part in the World Championships as part of the World Equestrian Games. In the team ranking she achieved 3rd place with Elke Philipp , Hannelore Brenner and Britta Näpel and thus a bronze medal . In 2015 she was able to repeat this success with the team.

At the XV. She was also able to start the 2016 Paralympic Summer Games and took 5th place in the championship task in the Grade IV category. In the team competition , she and her team took 2nd place and won a silver medal.

For this success, she and her team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Joachim Gauck on November 1, 2016 .
