Hannelore Brenner
Hannelore "Hanne" Brenner (born June 21, 1963 in Lüneburg ) is a German dressage rider in equestrian sports for the disabled . She starts nationally and internationally in competition class (Grade) IV.
Life
Hannelore Brenner started riding at the age of 12 and rode versatility tests in her youth . In 1986 she started at the state championship Hanover-Bremen, an eventing class L (which today corresponds to a CIC / CCI 1 * internationally ) in Luhmühlen . Here she fell in a low jump, her horse overturned and buried Brenner under her.
After the accident, she started riding again, riding a friend's horse as a hobby without participating in tournaments. In 1989 she moved to Heidelberg , where she studied and started her professional career. In 1997 she bought Geronimo , her own horse, initially as a hobby horse. However, tournaments soon followed, in dressage tests at regular tournaments and in disabled sports.
As a result of her accident, Brenner is incompletely paraplegic and can still walk to a limited extent with sticks and rails. Because of this disability, it is classified as Grade IV (until 2016 referred to as Grade III). In the meantime, Brenner can show a number of national and international successes, in regular sport she won her first dressage test in the advanced level (advanced level) in May 2011 . In equestrian sports for the disabled, she is a multiple Paralympic gold medalist in her competition class.
At the beginning of 2008, Brenner moved her horses to Wachenheim , where she is trained by Dorte Christensen. In addition, she is trained at major competitions by the respective national trainer for riders with disabilities. Professionally, she switched to Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH in 2009 , which grants her extensive grants and exemptions for her sport.
The Hanoverian chestnut mare Women of the World has been Hannelore Brenner's sports partner for years . This is a very sensitive horse, which can lead to problems if there is a lot of applause.
Hannelore Brenner was a member of the 14th Federal Assembly at the suggestion of the SPD and took part in the election of the German Federal President on June 30, 2010 . Hannelore Brenner was selected as the German flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2014 World Equestrian Games .
In 2015, Brenner again took part in the European Championships with the now 20-year-old mare Women of the World and won both individual ratings in her competition class. The 10-year-old gelding Kawango was her championship horse for the 2016 Summer Paralympics . Due to a slight injury to the gelding, Hannelore Brenner was unable to take part in the Paralympics.
