Carolina Aguero

Carolina Agüero (born November 4, 1975 in Córdoba , Argentina ) is an Argentine ballet dancer . Since 2007 she has been principal soloist with the Hamburg Ballet , directed by John Neumeier .

Life

Agüero completed her training at the ballet school of the Teatro Rivera Indarte . Her teachers include Olga Ferri , Enrique Lommi and Liliana Belfiore . First engagements took her to the Córdoba Ballet , the Ballet agent where they with Julio Bocca danced, and the Ballet de Santiago de Chile , where it is already the title role in Ivan Nagy's choreographed by La Sylphide danced and solos in pieces by Balanchine and Nebrada took .

Her first stop in Europe was the renowned Stuttgart Ballet , followed by engagements at the Dresden Ballet and the Finnish National Ballet , where she was already the principal soloist. In Helsinki she created Antonia in Patrice Bart's Tchaikovsky choreography and met her with John Neumeier when he was rehearsing his ballet The Seagull with the ensemble there ; Aguero danced the Masha. Neumeier brought the dancer to the Hamburg Ballet as a soloist in 2006, where she became principal soloist in 2007. There she created the role of Tamara Karsavina in Neumeier's new version of Le Pavillon d'Armide and a solo in Verklungene Feste . The wide range of her repertoire was already evident in Helsinki, and finally also in Hamburg, which ranges from the classic Petipa and Nijinsky creations to John Cranko , Hans van Manen , Rudi van Dantzig and Jiří Kylián to younger choreographers.

Guest appearances have taken her to Spain, Italy, Cincinnati, Farö and Bremen with Ángel Corella and Don Quichotte . At the Theater an der Wien she appeared in two Neumeier productions: in 2009 in Death in Venice and in 2014 in The Lady of the Camellias .

Agüero is married to Dario Franconi , who also comes from Córdoba and is also a soloist at the Hamburg Ballet .
