Carrie Steinseifer

Carrie Steinseifer (born February 12, 1968 ) is a former American swimmer .

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , she was a two-time Olympic champion . She won the 100 m freestyle at the same time as Nancy Hogshead and thus received the gold medal . She also won gold in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay . At the age of 16, she was the youngest Olympic champion at the Games in Los Angeles.

Since the end of her career she has been working as a marketing manager. In 1999 she was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
