Zhuang Yong

Zhuang Yong ( Chinese  莊 泳  /  庄 泳 , Pinyin Zhuāng Yǒng ; born August 10, 1972 in Shanghai ) is a former Chinese swimmer .

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she became the first Chinese woman to win a medal in swimming. She finished second behind Kristin Otto in the finals of the 100 m freestyle . Four years later in Barcelona she became Olympic champion in the 100 m freestyle and won the 50 m freestyle and the silver medal with the Chinese 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.
