Carsten Manz

Carsten Manz (* 1968 ) is a German mechanical engineer and has been President of the University of Konstanz Technology, Economics and Design HTWG since 2014 .

Life

Carsten Manz studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 1988 to 1993, specializing in aerospace engineering . With the work Laserentlacken of aerospace materials , he was in 1996 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg for Dr.-Ing. PhD. He held various functions as project and program manager and was assistant to the management as well as head of strategic corporate planning at Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH and most recently head of the railway systems business unit at EADS ( Dornier GmbH ). He completed management training at Henley Business School .

In 1999 he became professor for technical sales and technical production basics at the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences; since October 2006 he has also been dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and head of the Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and International Sales Management.

In July 2013 he was elected by the University Council as the successor to Kai Handel as President of the University of Konstanz Technology, Economics and Design, taking office on April 15, 2014. His term of office is six years.

Manz has been a board member of the International Lake Constance University IBH since November 2014 . He is a member of the Fachforum Hochschule of the UNESCO World Action Program Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
