Cartel is a five-piece American pop-punk band from Conyers , Georgia, and was formed in 2004.

All of the band members have been friends since high school . Her first album Chroma brought her to the list of Bands You Need To Know by the music magazine Alternative Press in 2005 . In March 2006, they also won the Yahoo! Who's Next contest. Music and have been named breaker artist by AOL -Music .

In March 2006, Cartel moved within the Sony group from the record label The Militia Records to Epic Records , where their debut album Chroma was re-released. The new release also contained the live EP Live Dudes . Shortly thereafter, they supported New Found Glory with The Early November and Hit The Lights . After a few minor appearances, they have started a tour with Cobra Starship , Boys Like Girls , Quietdrive , New Atlantic and Permanent Me . On June 8, 2006, bassist Ryan Roberts left the band. According to the band, it was a friendly breakup. An old friend of the band, Jeff Lett, joined the band to replace Roberts. Cartel also contributed a cover version of the Oasis song Wonderwall to the Punk Goes' 90s compilation.

In February and March 2007 they were on the road in the USA, their first single Honestly was recorded in 2007 during breaks in the broadcast of the NCAA March Madness on ESPN . Another single, Say Anything (Else) was featured on the 2007 Madden NFL soundtrack. The second album "Cartel" was released on August 21, 2007 on Epic Records . It was recorded in a Bubble on the MTV Show Band in 20 days .

Soon after the second album, the record label separated from Cartel. Their third album Cycles was released in October 2009 on Wind-Up Records . On January 15, 2013 the band announced their new album Collider via Facebook , on March 26, 2013 it was released.
