Casey Therriault

Casey Therriault (born June 20, 1989 ) is an American football player .

career

Born in Grand Rapids , Michigan , Therriault was a member of the Wyoming Park High School school team and then played at the College of the Sequoias in California . After engaging in a brawl while on home leave that resulted in the death of a man, he was sentenced to six months in prison, which ended in June 2009. The 1.91-meter-long quarterback continued his football career at Grand Rapids Community College, from 2010 to 2012 he played at Jackson State University (state of Mississippi ), where he graduated with a degree in physical education.

The NFL team Atlanta Falcons signed him in early April 2012, but he did not succeed in making the leap into the team and the employment relationship was terminated. Later in 2012, he was initially signed by the BC Lions from the Canadian CFL league , but shortly thereafter removed from the squad.

In the run-up to the 2013 season, he accepted an offer from the Braunschweig Lions from the top German division GFL . With the Lower Saxony he won the German championship in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 as well as the Eurobowl in 2015, 2016 and 2017 . In 2013, 2014 and 2016 Therriault was named the best player in the final of the German championship. Furthermore, in 2015 and 2017 he was named the best player in the Eurobowl. After the end of the 2017 season, Therriault announced that he would end his playing career for the time being, at the end of November 2018 he was then signed by Braunschweig's GFL competitor Hildesheim Invaders . With Hildesheim he was eliminated in the GFL quarter-finals against Frankfurt in 2019, Therriault was plagued by foot problems during parts of the season. In January 2020 he was announced as a new addition by another GFL team, the Cologne Crocodiles .
