Life

After Bumiller was deployed as an infantryman on the Western Front in World War I , he processed his experiences in his drama "Apocalypse", for which he made the first drafts as early as 1917. He was also active as a soldiers' council in the post-war period . In 1929 his drama was finally printed.

In the following years Bumiller worked as an innkeeper and, because of his commitment to writing, was also a member of the Reichsschrifttumskammer (1933–1938). Because of his membership in the Jungingen KPD local group, he was interned in 1933 for several months in the "protective camp " in Heuberg . Another internment followed in September 1939, first on the Hohenasperg , then in the Buchenwald concentration camp . In April 1940 Bumiller was released "on a trial basis".

After the Second World War , Bumiller continued to work as an innkeeper and writer until his death.

Casimir Bumiller's estate has been in the German Literature Archive in Marbach am Neckar since 1988 .
