Caspar Joachim von Wachholtz

Casper Joachim von Wachholtz (* 1673 ; † 1736 ) was a Prussian colonel , chief of garrison regiment No. 4 and member of the court martial over the then Crown Prince and later King Friedrich II.

Life

He was the son of Jakob Joachim von Wachholtz (* 1635; † August 30, 1708) and his second wife Diana Catharina, born von Ploetz. She was the daughter of District Administrator Joachim Christoph von Ploetz from the House of Stuchow and Margarete von Petersdorf on Jacobsdorf.

In 1699 was stationed with the princely Desau infantry regiment in Halle (Saale) . He became a captain on April 2, 1707 and major on October 6, 1718 . In 1734 a battalion from Anhalt was formed to take part in the Rhine campaign in 1734. At that time the commander was Moritz Christian von Schwandes . On October 3, 1736, Wachholtz received this battalion. The prince left the battalion to the Prussian king, who transferred it to Glatz as a garrison battalion .

Court martial

Wachholtz was in court martial over Friedrich and Katte . In it he voted in the first vote for an acquittal. After the king received the sentence, but for death. Only Dönhoff and Linger voted against it.
