Cassel is a district of the local community Heckenbach in the district of Ahrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate .
history
The place Cassel, which was written Kassel for a long time , is first handed down in 1379, when knight Heinrich the Gude sold property in Cassel to the Heinrich son of Rolmann called von Turre zu Sinzig .
In 1938, Cassel, together with eleven other villages, was evacuated when the Ahrbrück air force training area was being laid out and subsequently destroyed. The places were repopulated from 1950. In 1987 Cassel had 77 inhabitants.
