Cassidy Hugaert Haley (born June 17, 1980 in Oakland , California ) is an American singer , songwriter and fashion designer from Los Angeles .

biography

Haley was born in Oakland and grew up in nearby Richmond . He is the son of a lesbian mother and a gay father, he has three sisters and two brothers. His ancestors are mostly of Irish, Scottish, German, French and Indian descent.

Haley has performed with several circuses over the years, including El Circo and Lucent Dossier. He masters the stilt walk and the rope dance; he offered a show on stilts for Halloween 2009 in Las Vegas . Haley developed designs for costumes for himself and other circus performers, which he also uses for his band costumes and music videos. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career as a musician and fashion designer.

In 2003 Haley founded the company “Harvest” together with Evan Sugarman. In 2005 he left the company, however, because he wanted to devote himself to his music career. In 2006 Haley returned to the fashion industry and founded a company called "Skin.Graft" with Jonny Cota . Katie Kay joined them later. Skin.Graft is known for its "underground look". Not only do they produce custom designs, but they also have a downtown boutique in Los Angeles. They presented a fall / winter collection at LA Fashion Week 2009. Haley sold his half of Skin.Graft in January 2009 to focus more on his music.

The winner of the seventh season of American Idol , David Cook , wore Skin.Graft designs during the competition and during numerous public appearances. Haley is a friend of Adam Lambert who appeared in American Idol season 8. Adam also wore designs by Haley during the competition and at American Idols LIVE! Tour 2009 "was Skin.Graft in the" ABC News 20/20 "on June 13th, 2009. Other famous personalities wearing Skin.Graft designs are: Fergie , CariDee English, Margaret Cho , Lil Rounds, Allison Iraheta , and Tila Tequila .

Haley sings and plays guitar and piano. He founded his own music label in December 2009, Sunshine Rebel Records. He publishes his own music on iTunes and eBay , publishes YouTube videos and gives online concerts for his fans.

Haley wrote and produced his debut extended play Little Boys and Dinosaurs using Ableton Live software. The Houston Chronicle music reviewer Joey Guerra described Haley's music as "high quality produce, dark and theatrical." It was released on iTunes on August 10, 2009. He also recorded acoustic sessions from the songs on the album and posted them online, and later released a DVD of these videos in September 2009. His first studio album The Fool came out on July 13, 2010. The single This Time , including a music video , was released on February 14, 2011 . Exactly three years later, on February 14, 2014, his second studio album The Lovers was released , which was financed by a successful crowdfunding on kickstarter.com in 2011 . The target of $ 7,000 was nearly exceeded by $ 10,000.
