Cataldo Naro
Cataldo Naro (born January 6, 1951 in San Cataldo , Province of Caltanissetta , Italy , † September 29, 2006 in Monreale ) was Archbishop of Monreale .
Life
Cataldo Naro studied first at the seminary of Caltanissetta and then at the Pontificia Facoltà dell'Italia Meridionale in Naples. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1974. He was lecturer in ecclesiastical history at the Theological Institute of the Diocese, President of the Theological Faculty of Sicily, Parish Vicar at the main Church of San Cataldo and Rector ecclesiae of the Church of San Giuseppe in San Cataldo.
On October 18, 2002, Cataldo Naro was appointed Archbishop of Monreale, and he received episcopal ordination on December 14 of the same year from Cardinal Camillo Ruini . He was Vice-Prior of the Lieutenancy of Sicily of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . He was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Constantine .
Cataldo Naro died of a heart attack on September 29, 2006 at the age of 55 . He was buried in the Chiesa Madre in his native San Cataldo.
