Caterina Ganz (born November 13, 1995 ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

In 2014, Ganz took part in the Junior World Championships in Fiemme Valley , where he was 27th in the skiathlon and ninth in the relay. A year later she finished 24th in the sprint in Almaty, 13th place over 5 km freestyle and 15th place in the skiathlon and was also seventh in the relay. In December 2015, Ganz made her debut in the Alpencup in Prémanon . There she placed ninth over 10 km freestyle and seventh place over 10 km classic in her first two starts right in the top ten. At the Alpencup in Planica in January 2016, she finished fifth over 10 km classic and came second in the 15 km freestyle race and achieved her first podium finish. In the 2016/17 season she won the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. She got four wins and finished second three times. She ran her first World Cup race in Ulricehamn in January 2017 and achieved 34th place in the 10 km freestyle. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti were 25th place in the skiathlon and ninth place with the relay. At the World Cup final in Québec she came in 35th place. In the 2017/18 season, she achieved sixth place in the overall ranking of the Alpencups with seven top ten placements. At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , she finished 33rd in the sprint.

In the 2018/19 season, Ganz took 20th place in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and got her first World Cup points. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , she ran on 40th place over 10 km classic and 33rd place in the skiathlon. At the end of the season she came in 38th place at the World Cup finals in Québec and finally reached 48th place in the overall World Cup.
