The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) ( Swahili Chuo Kikuu Katoliki cha Afya na Sayansi ) is a private Roman Catholic university in Bugando- Mwanza ( Tanzania ).
history
In 1994, the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) decided to establish an independent Bugando University College of Health Sciences at the St. Augustine University of Tanzania , which was later renamed the Weill Bugando University College of Health Sciences . In 2003 the college finally became independent, making it the second Catholic university in Tanzania. The university is located on the grounds of the Bugando Medical Center (BMC) , which has an academic teaching hospital with 870 beds.

- 3-year diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (training comparable to that of medical-technical assistant ).
- 3-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Science & Technology (training comparable to that of a pharmaceutical-technical assistant ).
- 3-year diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (training comparable to that of a radiology assistant ).
- University undergraduate courses :
- 5-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) course (comparable to studying medicine ).
- 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) course (comparable to the pharmacy course ).
- 2-, 3- or 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (B.Sc.NED) .
- 3-year Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences course (comparable to training as a medical-scientific laboratory assistant).
- 3- or 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N) course (comparable to training as a midwife ).
- University consecutive or postgraduate courses:
- 3-year Master of Medicine (M. Med) specializing in internal medicine , obstetrics , gynecology , surgery , paediatrics or anesthesia .
- 1-year Master of Public Health (MPH) .
- 3-year Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) .
