Cay Dietrich Voss ( 1910 - September 17, 1970 ) was a German television announcer .

Life

Cay Dietrich Voss was the production manager of the German Nazi propaganda films Bismarck from 1940 and The Great King from 1942. Before that, in 1939 he was assistant director of the German film Das Große Los .

Since December 26, 1952, he was voiceover for the news program Tagesschau on ARD , where he was initially only heard in the background during television reports and interviews .

Cay Dietrich Voss ended his moderation in 1962, eight years before his death .

Alongside Manfred Schmidt , Karl-Heinz Köpcke , Martin Thon and Diether von Sallwitz, he was the first speaker to announce the news on Tagesschau since the day it was founded in the broadcasting center in Hamburg . As an On spokesman himself, he was only present in front of the camera from 1959.
