Cayman Islands Open 2009

The Cayman Islands Open 2009 took place from May 5th to 10th, 2009 on Grand Cayman , the largest of the three Cayman Islands . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2008/09 and belonged to the Silver 30 category . The prize money was $ 37,500.

Nicol David secured the title of the first edition of this tournament. The top seeded Malaysian defeated Natalie Grainger in the final 11: 8, 11: 6 and 11: 5. It was Nicol's first title win of the year and her 35th career title.

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Marlene West a spot in the main draw.
