Ceftolozane is an antibiotic from the group of cephalosporins . The bactericidal effect is, as with other β-lactam antibiotics by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Ceftolozane is approved in combination with the β-lactamase inhibitor tazobactam for the treatment of hospital-acquired pneumonia as well as complicated urinary tract infections , acute pyelonephritis and complicated intra-abdominal infections (trade name Zerbaxa ). The combination with tazobactam serves to protect against degradation of ceftolozane by β-lactamases . Ceftolozane can only be administered parenterally .
