Celosia persicaria is a species of the genus Brandschopf ( Celosia ) in the foxtail family(Amaranthaceae). It isnative toeastern Peru .
description
Celosia persicaria grows as an herbaceous plant and reaches heights of about 50 cm. The leaves are divided into a petiole and a leaf blade. The bald, simple leaf blade is 13 cm long and 25 mm wide, narrowly elliptical with a base that gradually narrows into the petiole and a narrow, pointed upper end.
The upright, mostly unbranched, total inflorescences consist of clusters separated by about 5 mm and each containing a few flowers. The bracts and bracts are ovate-lanceolate. The tepals are oblong ovoid.
