Cemesis is the fifth studio album by the German rapper Summer Cem . It was released on January 22, 2016 via the label Banger Musik and distributed by Warner Music .
history
On November 19, 2015 it was announced that Summer Cem's fifth album, called Cemesis, would be released on January 22, 2016. Shortly after the album was announced, the first video single with Take Me With You was released . In the course of the promotional phase, more music videos followed for the songs Not Complete , Gary Pedro Crock , Sintflut and Ya Kalb . Furthermore, blogs were uploaded to the Banger Musik YouTube channel at regular intervals . A snippet for the album was published on January 4, 2016.
Cemesis appeared in a standard edition as well as a limited box ; which contained a bonus EP , the instrumentals, a poster, an autograph card, a box cube, three stickers and a snapback with 3 patches. The iTunes -Edition contained the songs of the Bonus XP addition to the normal album.
The album reached number 1 in the German album charts in January 2016, this album is the seventh number 1 position for banger music. In Austria and Switzerland, the album made it to number 4.

criticism
The album received mostly mediocre reviews after its release. Holger Grevenbrock from Laut.de rated the album with three out of five possible points and stated that the album would "at least offer good entertainment over long stretches". However, the album would offer little new. On the other hand, his “self-deprecating punch lines and harmonious flows” are praised.
For Backspin "the hoped-for reinvention in the house of Banger-Musik did not materialize with the first release of the new season either." The quieter songs in which Summer Cem mixed melancholy through the vocals were well rated. In one rating, the album got 6.5 out of 10 points.
Lukas Maier from MZEE judges Cemesis that it is a "relatively average album with very positive tendencies in places", but at the same time notes that the album would sometimes seem half-hearted.
The internet platform Rappers.in rated the album 2 out of 6 points in a review. In the author's opinion, Summer Cem should bring in a lot more concept and give the overall statement a chance, but there are positive rays of hope on the album.
